Procedures and Definition

SANDING AND POLISHING

Punch and putty flooring nails.
Coarse sand floor to evenness
Fine sand to smooth finish.


Apply 1st coat of Polyurethane
Apply 2nd and Final Coat of Polyurethane
(These coats will be applied according to manufacturers instructions.  Light sanding/buffing of floor followed by a thorough vacuuming)
The number of coats needed will change depending on product used.

BASIC SANDING
This Coarse sand floor is for removing of
plaster and paint marks.  

LEVEL SANDING
Coarse sand floor diagonally
Remove as much as possible hips
and hollows.

FINE SAND
Punch and putty flooring nails.
Coarse sand floor to evenness.
Fine sand to smooth finish.

RECOAT
Lightly buffing of previously finished flooring
then vacuuming and applying 1 coat of compatible finish.  This process is not designed to remove scratches and dents
already present in flooring.*  The aim of this process is to improve the sheen level of the flooring or to help match between old and new flooring areas.
 
*A full resand and polish is required for these to be removed successfully.
